Welcome to North Mountain Shepherds.  We are a small family breeder located in a rural community in Sullivan County, north central Pennsylvania's Endless Mountains Region.  North Mountain is the highest mountain in this range.  It is a wonderful place to live and a great place to raise, and companion with, German Shepherd dogs.
     Four years ago we were introduced to the West German Long Coat German Shepherds, and quickly realized they were an exceptional animal.  We started with an impressive black and red long coat female, our Ana, and later purchased and imported two top quality puppies from Germany from reputable breeders.

    We believe the  German Shepherds we breed should improve the health, quality, and temperament of the breed and should be able to be and do whatever the owner would want to accomplish with these wonderful dogs, whether it be for family, show or service.   Above all, we strive for outstanding companions.
     We have been responsible pet owners and occasional breeders for many years.  Our puppies are raised in a family environment with frequent exposure to kids (we have seven grandchildren), other animals, and a variety of experiences to encourage socialization and stable temperament.  We are very well versed in what it takes to raise outstanding puppies and are dedicated and prepared to make this happen.
